About Autohaus of McAllen
A fine little shop for your foreign car!
Located at 2320 Vine Ave, McAllen, TX 78501, Autohaus of McAllen operates as an auto repair shop serving McAllen in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as auto parts store, car repair and maintenance service, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 amβ7 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (956) 687-1153. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, autohausofmcallen.com.

A/C on 2016 Mercedes Benz C-300 stopped working. It was repaired rather promptly once needed parts arrived. Excellent service all the way from beginning to end. Highly recommend it! Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Escalona, truly appreciate your help with these matters!

As others have said, this was genuinely the most unpleasant experience Iβve had, well done on earning that title. I called to ask about an oil change and if they could service my Porsche, the gentleman on the phone answered with pure sarcasm and condescension, wouldnβt give me a straight answer. I brought it in anyway, and any questions I had were met with a βweβve been doing this for 30 years, stop asking questionsβ attitude. The gentleman who does the work doesnβt say hi or acknowledge you when you walk in, doesnβt ask anything about your vehicle or what you need, he just looks at the receptionist and waits for her to tell him whatβs going on despite you standing right there. They donβt do appointments, they just say βif you bring it in the morning, we might get to it same dayβ as if we donβt have jobs and need to plan ahead. When I brought in my car, they promised it would be done long before the end of the day and they would call me. 4:30 PM rolls around and I needed to plan whether or not I would need to get an uber to pick up my car. I called to confirm and the gentleman simply said βITS NOT READY, WEβLL CALL YOU WHEN ITS READYβ - and hung up. At 5:40 PM they finally called

Spoke with him on the phone about issues that my 2007 BMW 328i was having, my case was one that could not be helped, but he was very knowledgeable and gave me insight into the history of European vehicles and what problems could arise with lack of correct maintenance. It was a very informative talk for me and i have always done the maintenance for my vehicle since i purchased it and have done plenty of research on it myself. If i am ever to own another European vehicle, this will be my go to location, and i will recommend Autohaus to any friends/family that have problems with said vehicles.

This is the only place in the Valley I trust to work on my car. I grew up working on cars so I have some knowledge in mechanic/tech work and I always know when a shop is trying to overcharge me or charge me for things my car doesn't need. The owner is very knowledgeable and will explain mechanical problems to you in a way you will understand, often using simple analogies. Highly recommend this place if you have a European car. Donβt go to the dealer or another shop unless you want to deal with dishonest people looking to overcharge you!

Mr. and Mrs. Escalona are awesome! I got some major maintenance services on my Benz and it is running very smooth. Mr. Escalonaβs knowledge about foreign cars is superb. His prices are extremely reasonable and his advice is honest. They were open late until they finished all my major services the same day. Highly recommend!
